Adventure Sailing
Sailing Adventures for the Renaissance Romantic
Sharing the Wind

Most of us spend our days in the fabricated economic world of concrete and steel.  We become structured in our day, our thoughts, and our emotions, often loosing site of the natural beauty and freedom of life around us.  Some find escape in their garden, on a hike, or in the sanctuary of an art museum.  Adventure Sailors find it with the wind at our backs, the sun on our face, well oiled teak at our feet, and the laughter of friends at our side.

Adventure Sailing trips combined small boat sailing with wilderness camping.  In a flotilla of 5, 21ft. Sea Pearls, we set off on a cruise to such adventure destinations as the Apostle Islands, Michigan Dunes, Horn Island, San Juan Islands, or the North Channel.  Each boat takes 4-6 adventures and we sail in a flotilla for safety. All boats are equipped with VHF radio, GPS,  EPIRBs, auxiliary engine, and USCG rescue equipment.  At night we beach and/or anchor our boats, camping on the beach, sharing music around the camp fire, going snorkeling and diving, enjoying gourmet meals, and building great friendships.

Our adventure fleet consists of the:
1. Nordic Myst     2. Slipper     3. Tide Chaser    4. Shadow     5. Quidditch
You can see Shadow sailing below with Nordic Myst in the background.

Adventure Sailing is a niche sport that pits one's technical sailing, navigation, and wilderness camping skills against the wiles of Mother Nature.

To participate in an adventure you need you need to be a competent swimmer and enjoy wilderness camping.  You do not need to know how to sail as each boat is skippered by a seasoned sailor.  As a mater of fact, an adventure sail is a great way to learn about sailing and coastal navigation from a pro.

Adventure Sailing was organized by William Stillman a long time sailor and dingy racer (Lightnings and Finns).  He is a U.S. Sailing Instructor, an American Canoe Accosiation wilderness canoeing instructor, and a U.S. Coast Guard Coxswain with  Red Cross Certification in first aid, CPR, and Lifesaving.
